The Prom is still happening tonight. Please be safe in traveling and if your area is flooded we are sorry if you can't make it this year and we hope you will stay safe.
Prom of the Stars 2018, was a huge success this year! Thanks for all who came, all who gave, and all who served, we couldn't do it without you.
Here is something Shannon Warden wrote about the evening:
Last night, I saw Jesus. I saw him in the beautiful faces of 1,000 dancers in wheelchairs and walkers and what the world calls broken genetics, but in reality is the likeness of Christ. I saw Jesus in volunteers who openly embraced strangers and were reunited with old friends from last year. I saw Jesus in volunteers who held the hand of a girl having a medical emergency and in one who comforted her lost friend and in another who danced and mixed music for hours without stopping. I saw Jesus in the face of children who are growing up learning that this is what loving your neighbor looks like. I saw Jesus in the weary caregivers who got to laugh and connect with others who do their impossible, and often lonely work. I saw Jesus in the food servers who went above and beyond to ensure ALL of our guests were fed to their specific needs, including happily puréeing and chopping meals for those who needed it. We ask in this hurting, broken, divided, lonely world where Jesus is? Look around...look around...he's here. YOU ARE THE BODY OF CHRIST!
Prom of the Stars 2019 has been scheduled for Saturday, February 23, 2019 from 5:00-8:00 at the Knoxville Convention Center!
